We bring excavators, utility owners, locators and municipalities together across the seven-county Denver metro area — so the 632,000 locate requests filed here every year end in finished work, not an emergency.

Four steps to safe digging

Notify 811
At least three business days before you dig. It's free, and it's Colorado law.

Wait for the marks
Every notified facility owner must respond before you break ground.
- 3
Respect the marks
Hand-dig or vacuum excavate inside the tolerance zone.
- 4
Dig with care
And report any damage — even a nick — to the facility owner.

Denver Metro Damage Prevention Council
